Starmount Forest is about being Family-Friendly.
The modern country club is not just about the husband playing golf. It is not about a singular experience. It is about the family. And Starmount Forest takes great pride in being a Family Friendly Country Club.
Starmount Forest regularly provides programming for all ages, not just the adults. There are two youth golf programs (InterClub and Junior PGA) along with specific clinics for our younger players. In addition, the staff holds weekly clinics throughout the spring and summer for junior players to teach the various elements of the game, as well as proper course etiquette. The staff also holds "play with the Pro" days where junior golfers get to play in a group with one of the club pros.
The tennis staff has a regular schedule of after-school tennis programming that is tiered both by age and ability and encourages players to enter various junior level USTA tennis events.
The Starmount Stingrays are the club's swim team. They begin practicing indoors in February and compete around the Greensboro area in meets during June and July, culminating in the City Meet at the Greensboro Aquatics Center. Members of the pool staff who help coach the swim team also teach swimming lessons throughout the summer.
The club also provides "fun day" summer camps with a variety of activities, including tennis, golf, swimming and arts & crafts.
Throughout the year, Starmount Forest also provides child care during dining activities on Wednesday and Friday nights. Wednesday night is our "Kids Zone", where kids can take their Family Night plate downstairs to watch TV and play games. Friday night is our ESCAPE program with children playing games and enjoying fun activities in the fitness center.
